By Car

From London, take the M3 or A3. From the Midlands take the A34 to the M3. From Bristol and South Wales take the A36. From the South West take the A31. These roads all lead to the M275, which takes you directly to the port.

By Train

Train services between Portsmouth and London Waterloo take 85 minutes. There are also services from London Victoria and Cardiff.

Portsmouth has two stations: Portsmouth & Southsea and Portsmouth Harbour, both of which are close to the port. Taxis from the train stations to the port cost around £5. Please allow plenty of time to make it to the port.

By Coach

There are regular coach services, operated by National Express, from the terminal building to London Victoria and Heathrow Airport. From London, there are onward connections to the rest of the UK.

They recommend buying tickets in advance. Local bus services are operated by two companies: Stagecoach (bus 20) and First Bus (buses 8, X4 and X9).

By Foot

It takes approximately 20 minutes to walk to the ferry terminal from the town centre and 30 minutes from Portsmouth & Southsea train station.
